Field Trip
We took a field trip walking throughout Akron, exploring some cool spots along the way. We visited the 'Special Collections' floor of the Akron Library, visited the Akron Art Museum, the infamous 'Peanut Shop', Lock 3, and ended our trek at Luigi's. It was a great day.

Sand Run Metro Park |
These are a few photos I have taken throughout the end of the Summer and into the Fall seasons of the Sandrun metro park located in the Valley. These trails connect to the Towpath, which we have learned were trails used by Indians inhabiting the Akron area hundreds of years ago.

Indigo Lake
These photos were taken at Indigo Lake, a natural scenic spot in the Cuyahoga Valley. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad makes an official station stop at the Indigo Lake Trailhead along the Towpath. Indigo Lake was once a quarry, and there is still old mining machinery at the bottom of the lake.
I visited Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, the home turned museum of F.A. Seiberling, founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber, and his family.
I shopped at Stagecoach Antiques located between Highland Sq. and downtown Akron. The store was filled with the musty smells of old books, dishes, clothing, history, and broken porcelain baby dolls. Land of Plenty is a hidden gem; a secret, unique downtown spot. Located very, very closely to the antique store, Land of Plenty offers an authentic and earthy feel once you set foot inside. If I could buy all of the vintage clothes, jewelry, and heavenly candles, I certainly would!

Field trip to Perkin's Mansion & John Brown House
These photos are from our amazing field trip to the Simon Perkin's mansion, the man who co-founded Akron, and to the John Brown House, Perkins' next door neighbor and American abolitionist who may be credited with kick-starting the civil rights movement.
